Enhanced L2/L3 Mapping - TopoMapper

Enhanced L2/L3 Mapping - TopoMapper (February 01, 2013)

Create an OSI L2/L3 network map with OpManager's Topo Mapper. Just add your core router in OpManager's TopoMapper, it automatically pulls the details of other network devices connected to the core router, adds them in OpManager and draws a network map. From the map you can identify the status of the devices also. More...

Steps to install:

  1. Install TopoMapper.exe
  2. No database is bundled with TopoMapper. Install MSSQL and create a database with the name as topomapper. The port at which MSSQL is running has to configured in the database_params.conf of TopoMapper. If OpManager is running in the same server, then give that MSSQL port in the <TOPO_MAPPER_HOME>\conf\database_params.conf of TopoMapper.
  3. Copy the jtds-1.2.2.jar from opmanager\classes and paste it under Topo_Manager\classes.
  4. Mention the class path in startLayer2Mapping.bat (Topo_Manager\bin) as given below
  5. Open server.xml (Topo_Manager\tomact\conf) and add the following docBase under <Host> node
    <Context docBase="<installation-directory>\Topo_Mapper\" path="/L2Mapping" reloadable="true" workDir="<installation-directory>\ManageEngine\Topo_Mapper\\tomcat\work"/>
  6. From command prompt execute startLayer2Mapping.bat (Topo_Manager\bin) to start the product.
  7. Login to the web client with the following url: http://<host-name>:8080/L2Mapping/Welcome.do

  1. By default, TopoMapper uses the web server port 8080. If both OpManager and TopoMapper is running on the same machine, ensure that both the products don't use the same port to avoid port conflict.
  2. Ensure port 8005 is not occupied. If OpManager is also running in the same machine, the port 8005 will be occupied by it. Change it to other value.
