Unable to set a group as the primary group

Reason: This issue occurs when you try to set a

1. Distribution group as the primary group - only security groups can be made primary groups.
2. A security group that is not a domain local group as the primary group.

Solution: Select an appropriate Domain Local Security group as the primary group.
