ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer, Inside Products Team Presents IPv6 Webinar Series

Free Educational Webinar Series Introduces Attendees to IPv6 Addressing and Transition Techniques

PLEASANTON, Calif. - August 8, 2012 - With the number of available IPv4 addresses nearing exhaustion, migration to IPv6 has become inevitable. IPv6 solves the address shortage by using 128-bit addresses to accommodate approximately 3.4×1038 possible addresses. More importantly, with IPv6, network administrators have to deal with new IP address formats, address planning, DHCP and DNS mechanisms as well as new concepts and protocols such as Stateless Address Autoconfiguration (SLAAC), Neighbor Discovery and Router Discovery. Furthermore, IPv4 and IPv6 are incompatible protocols and yet networks need to support both for years to come. Transition mechanisms enable co-existence of IPv4 and IPv6, but choosing the right one requires awareness of transition techniques and their benefits and downfalls.

In an upcoming two-part webinar series organized by ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer and Inside Products, IPv6 industry expert Nalini Elkins will help attendees better understand IPv6 and work through IPv6 transition techniques. During the webinars, attendees will have an opportunity to directly interact with the speaker to get answers to their IPv6 questions.

“IPv6 addressing has its own set of advantages like built-in end-to-end security using IPsec, more addressing space, built-in support for mobile devices, etc. Despite having a plethora of resources that talk in detail about IPv6, there are some questions that need to be answered about IPv6 adoption. It is our earnest attempt to enlighten enterprises with expertise from the industry,” said Rajkumar Vijayarangakannan, product manager, ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer.
