Checking System Requirements

Make sure that the machine on which SQLDBManager Plus will be installed meets the minimum / recommended system requirements.

Configuring MS SQL Database for IT360

Once you have ensured that you have met the minimum / recommended system requirements for installing ManageEngine IT360, lets go ahead and configure MS SQL Database server for IT360.

Step 1: Ensure that the following SQL Windows Services are running in the machine where SQL Server is installed:

  1. SQL Server
  2. SQL Server Browser

Step 2: Ensure that you have proper (Admin) privileges before executing the steps given below.

  1. Preferred User Rights -> Admin User Privileges
  2. Use SQL Management Studio to configure user rights
  3. Server authentication should be SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode

Step 3: Under 'Server Roles', enable the following roles.

Step 4: Under 'User Mapping', map 'master' to the user who has admin privileges, and enable the following Database role memberships

Once you have made sure that the above mentioned Services are running, execute the following steps by using SQL Server Configuration Manager.

Step 5: Navigate to SQL Server Configuration Manager -> SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration -> Protocols for MSSQLSERVER and then enable the following Protocols:

  1. Shared Memory
  2. Named Pipes
  3. TCP/IP

Step 6: Right-click on TCP/IP, go to 'Properties' and then select 'IP Addresses'.

Step 7: Make sure that the fields 'Active, Enabled and TCP Port' is configured so that IT360 is able to connect to the SQL Server

Installing ManageEngine IT360

Once you have ensured that you have met the minimum / recommended system requirements and configured MS SQL Server for IT360, lets proceed with installing ManageEngine IT360.

Step 1: Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of ManageEngine IT360.

Step 2: Double click on ManageEngine_IT360.exe to begin installation

Step 3: Read through the License Agreement and Click Yes to accept it to proceed further

Step 4: Select your installation folder and then click Next

Step 5: Provide the required MS SQL database settings - Database server name, Port Number, Login, Password and Prefix to proceed further

Step 6: At the end of installation, select the option Start ME IT360 to start it as Windows service right away

Step 7: Another method to start ME IT360 is to navigate through Start > Programs > ManageEngine IT360 > Start Server

Un-installing ManageEngine IT360

Step 1: Before un-installing ManageEngine IT360, make sure that IT360 server is stopped. To stop the server, you can right-click on IT360 system tray icon and click on Stop IT360 Server.

Step 2: To un-install IT360, navigate to Start menu > Programs > ManageEngine IT360 > Uninstall

Step 3: You can also un-install IT360 by using Windows Add / Remove Programs.
