How to configure UCS alert escalation
CI Manager Plus can generate alerts whenever an UCS component goes down. The alerts can be escalated and notified through Email or SMS. The alarm escalation details can be configured to escalate the alerts. Follow the procedure given below:
Select Configuration > Alert Escalation Rules menu. The Alert Escalation Details page opens up
In the Alert Escalation Details page,
- Enter the name of the alarm escalation rule in the Rule Name field
- Select the alarm severity in the Alarm with Severity field, from the dropdown list. The severity options are, Critical, Trouble, Attention, and Service Down
- Select the alarm category in the Category field, from the dropdown list. All the available devices, components of the UCS are listed
- Select the business view in the Business View field, from the dropdown list. All the available business views are listed
- Enter the escalation condition value (in minute(s)/hour(s)) of the alarm escalation rule in the Not Cleared Within _ (minute(s)/hour(s)) field
- Enter the escalation condition value (in hour(s)) of the alarm escalation rule in the Run this check every _ hour(s) field
- To exclude the acknowledged alarms from this escalation, select the Exclude Acknowledged Alarms checkbox
- Select Email or SMS notification for this escalation with the check boxes
- Configure the Email or SMS details
- Click OK button to complete the operation
Email notification configuration
Configure the email notification details as explained below:
- Enter the To email address
- Enter the From email address
- Enter the email Subject
- Enter the email Message
SMS notification configuration
Configure the SMS notification details as explained below:
- Enter the Mobibe Number
- Enter the SMS Message
